In order to make manual entries in Appraise, please follow the steps below.
For Cash:
- Add a "custom" security to the portfolio that starts with "99".
Example: 99111111
This indicates to Appraise that the asset should not be sent for pricing. - Set "Share/Par Value" to the total value of the security in USD.
- Click on the security you just added to highlight it. The "Edit Selected Security" button on the left side will become active.
- Click on the "Edit Selected Security" button and a new window will open with details about this security.
- Click on the "Security Type" so that it is highlighted in blue. This typically defaults to "Common Stock" and should be changed to "Text".
- Click on the Up/Down arrows that become present on the "Security Type" box. This will flip through the different options that can be set. When "Text" is visible, click on the word "Text" so it becomes highlighted in blue. This will change the selection, and the window should change the reflect the new security type.
- Type "CASH" into the "Text Line 1" field and then enter the total value of the security in USD into the "Total Security Value" field. This should match the number entered for the shares field as cash is seen as dollar-per-share.
- Once all information has been entered, you can click on "Save Security".
